Birds of Paradise Games is owned and operated by the Beard family: Kate, Eric, Alex, Ian and Oriana. We opened our doors on Sunday, September 19th, 2010, after several months of renovations on a retail space in Dunedin, FL. We were able to realize our dream of creating a comfortable, spacious place to play games, with a separated product area.

Many play areas at game/hobby/comic shops are an afterthought; a few plastic tables crammed into a corner, making it inconvenient for both players and shoppers, but not at our shop.

We have 1,000 square feet of dedicated play space and 1,000 more if needed, which means we can fit around 50 players very comfortably. Our tables are the small, square restaurant style that work perfectly for a two person Magic game, or they can be pushed together for a large DnD group. We also built modular tops that slide over the top of these tables to make a 4x4 felt-covered play space for Warhammer.

We have been steadily building a healthy community of players since we opened in September 2010. Several dozen people show up for Friday Night Magic, Wednesday Night DnD Encounters, and Sunday Afternoon Warhammer. We host large groups for Pathfinder and War Machine. And draft nights on Tuesday and Thursday have been getting more and more busy each week!
